 Lets  Dream  up a  library

Picture

When Humaira Bachal (president of Dream Foundation Trust: DFT) was in the 6th grade, she used to go from class to class during breaks, asking children to donate the left-over copies from their previous year - or just pages if they had empty ones. She and her sister who used to be in the third grade at the time, with a girl from the same class used to collect those donations in a trash bin. Then they would take those "thrash" copies and papers to their  2 bedroom home, and give them to the street children they would teach in the evenings.

Can you imagine what a Library would mean to such children?

DFT knows. So, a Dream Library was established in 2007. It is a very small library however, but the team has the same faith that has gotten their small community this far. They believe that books will increase gradually, and one day it will become a very big library, easily accessible to the hundreds of families and their children living in "Muach Goth"

Despite the dearth of books, the library has 100 members. Most being the DFT School's own students, and the teachers who hope to glean the most benefits from the rare opportunity of having books. If any organization or individual is interested in donating books for the Library, please feel free to send an email with Contact details to [email protected]
